Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Hyattsville, MD

Make a difference this school year by supporting students as a long-term Speech-Language Pathologist substitute. Multiple elementary schools are seeking enthusiastic and qualified SLPs to join their teams, offering essential services in engaging, supportive environments. Locations and caseloads vary—each presents a unique opportunity to positively impact young learners.

Open assignments include:

• Waverly Elementary: Support general education and some regional programs—AAC experience is a plus. Immediate start, continuing to mid-February or possibly through the end of the school year.
• Veterans Elementary: Focus on Early Childhood populations, starting mid-November through mid-February, with potential to continue.
• Deep Run Elementary: Work primarily with K-5 students beginning mid-November; assignment may be extended.
• Atholton/Phelps Luck Elementary: Share your expertise across two school communities, now through mid-February.

You’ll thrive with a full-time, 37.5-hour workweek, dedicated school-based schedules, and the ability to connect with a variety of student needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Maryland SLP license (CCC-SLP or clinical fellow strongly encouraged)
• Experience in school settings with diverse caseloads (Gen Ed, Early Childhood, K-5)
• AAC device knowledge is especially valuable
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Only onsite candidates will be considered at this time

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat communication and language disorders in elementary students
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with educators and families
• Document progress, maintain records, and participate in school meetings
• Provide consultative support to staff regarding student speech/language needs
