Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- State licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably at the elementary level
- Competence in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Knowledge of or openness to learning about AAC devices and other assistive technology
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with teachers, support staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary students with a range of communication needs
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans, focusing on students with limited verbal skills
- Integrate the use of AAC devices and visual supports as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all students on the caseload
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering expertise in communication strategies and progress updates
- Educate and collaborate with classroom staff and family members to promote consistency across environments
