Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Valid SLP license in the state of Iowa (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and prioritize tasks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect speech and language therapy to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments, write evaluation reports, and contribute to eligibility determinations
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop appropriate intervention strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of educational goals
  • Support staff training and consultation to promote communication-rich classroom environments
