Apply NowStep into a dynamic contract role supporting students near Jersey City, NJ this fall as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time opportunity spans September through October and provides a valuable experience working with a diverse caseload across elementary, middle, and high school students. Daily schedules align with school hours—elementary (8:45am-3pm), middle (8:30am-2:50pm), and high school (8:05am-3pm)—offering structure and balance to your workweek.
Benefit from the variety within your caseload: serve 15 elementary students (approximately a day and a half each week) and primarily support middle schoolers, including those in self-contained LLD (Language and Learning Disabilities) and AU (Autism) classrooms. Some high school students will also be part of your schedule, allowing you to make an impact at every grade level. The needs of these students range from speech-only support to those who qualify for special education services.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Experience in pediatric, school-based settings
- Background providing services to students with both speech-only and special education needs
- Comfort working with self-contained classrooms (LLD and AU)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations, develop and implement IEP goals, and provide individual and group therapy
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school/district policies
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the unique developmental and educational requirements of each student
