Speech Language Pathologist in Jersey City, NJ

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a PreK-12 educational setting near Jersey City, NJ. We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) to provide coverage during a medical leave. This role requires in-person presence and offers a chance to make a tangible impact on a diverse group of approximately 40 students.

Key Qualifications:

• Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Valid NJDOE certification
• Previous school-based SLP experience, spanning PreK through 12th grade
• Comfortable working with students across a variety of ages and communication needs, including some nonverbal students
• Familiarity with low-tech AAC devices is highly desirable
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services to a caseload of around 40 students
• Support individuals with a range of communication abilities, including those who are nonverbal
• Utilize and implement low-tech AAC devices as appropriate to assist students’ communication
• Attend meetings and collaborate with educational staff, families, and other service providers
• Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with school and district guidelines
• Opportunity to shadow and transition cases with the current SLP prior to official start

This contract position is targeted to begin on October 1, 2026, with an expected end date of November 20, 2026, and the potential to extend through the end of the semester depending on circumstances. Schedule details will be finalized but early shadowing is encouraged. This is an in-person only assignment; remote or VOCO arrangements are not considered.
