Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active state licensure as an SLP (or eligibility for licensure)
- Prior experience working in school settings preferred
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in children and adolescents
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Comfortable working collaboratively with educators, parents, and allied professionals
Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ speech and language abilities to determine therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students’ specific requirements
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to individuals and small groups
- Track and document student progress; communicate results to staff and families
- Participate in collaboration meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and IEP conferences
- Provide resources and support to teachers and families for carryover of skills in the classroom and at home
- Stay current with best practices and professional development relevant to school-based SLPs
