School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Junction City, Oregon

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting the communication needs of students across two high schools and one elementary school for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role spans from September 8, 2026, to June 17, 2027, providing 40 consistent hours each week. You’ll split your time evenly between two vibrant campuses—one focused on special education and life skills, and the other dedicated to fostering student socialization.

In this position, you'll collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team of special educators, paraprofessionals, and other assistants. Although you’ll work independently day-to-day, regular virtual check-ins and monthly meetings with an experienced group of 12 SLPs ensure professional camaraderie and support. With a varied caseload of roughly 33 students, you’ll be instrumental in their growth, especially in life skills programming. Candidates with prior experience in feeding, swallowing (safe eating), and AAC are highly valued, but if you have a genuine passion for these areas, training can be provided.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• State licensure, or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• School-based or pediatric experience desirable
• Knowledge of or interest in feeding/swallowing and AAC (training available if needed)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to working on-site; remote/hybrid work is not available

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, assess, and develop plans for students with diverse speech and language needs
• Serve students primarily within life skills and socialization programming
• Utilize evidence-based interventions, including strategies for safe eating and AAC
• Document progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Work collaboratively while maintaining autonomy
