Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a contract speech-language pathologist in the greater Kansas City area. This assignment runs from late August 2026 through late May 2027 and offers the chance to make a genuine impact within a supportive school environment. You’ll work on-site, collaborating with a talented team and backed by another in-house SLP, as you case manage and provide direct services to students with diverse needs.

What you’ll bring:

  • Active Speech-Language Pathology license and ASHA CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting, ideally working with elementary-age students
  • Familiarity with case management, IEP processes, and progress monitoring
  • Proven ability to collaborate with support staff and supervise SLP-Assistants
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Professionalism and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic educational environment

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing speech, language, and communication services to a caseload of approximately 76 students, including 21 as primary case manager
  • Supervising and working closely with an on-site SLP-Assistant 2–3 days per week (another staff SLP will oversee SLP-A supervision, but you will jointly collaborate)
  • Conducting assessments, developing IEP goals, and maintaining relevant records
  • Delivering engaging, evidence-based therapy to help students achieve measurable progress
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
