Make an impact supporting students in a welcoming elementary school setting, working alongside a skilled speech-language team. This contract position, beginning August 10, 2026 and anticipated to run through December 2026, will cover a maternity leave with a possibility of extending for the full academic year. Take charge of a meaningful caseload supporting three medically fragile classrooms, all conveniently coordinated with another SLP and an on-site SLPA.

What you’ll bring:

  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Previous experience within school settings, with a strong understanding of IEP documentation and school-based SLP responsibilities
  • Background providing therapy and assessments for medically fragile students
  • Hands-on expertise with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices required
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate well with school staff, families, and paraprofessionals
  • California licensure in Speech-Language Pathology, or eligibility to obtain, prior to start date

What the work will include:

  • Providing direct speech and language therapy to students in medically fragile classrooms
  • Collaborating with another SLP and an SLPA to design and deliver intervention plans
  • Participating in the IEP process—including assessments, progress monitoring, and meetings
  • Training and supporting instructional staff and caregivers on AAC devices and communication strategies
  • Documenting student progress and adapting intervention plans to student needs
