Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential speech-language services to elementary students. This leave coverage role runs from September 8, 2026, through October 30, 2026, with the potential for extension through December. Enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, totaling 32.5 hours per week. The position involves delivering approximately 40 half-hour sessions weekly, all within a supportive, school-based environment near Lake View, NY.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but strong CFs considered
- Prior experience working in school-based or pediatric settings, ideally elementary age
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, families, and support staff
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language therapy sessions per individualized student IEPs, following all district and state guidelines
- Assess, document, and track progress for approximately 40 sessions per week (30 minutes each)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other specialists to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and assist in developing or modifying plans as needed
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports on student performance and progress
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere for elementary learners
