Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support high school-aged students through transition-aged young adults for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, school-based opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students preparing for life beyond high school.

Position Details
Location: Vernon Hills, IL and surrounding areas
Assignment Duration: August 18, 2026 – June 2, 2027
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Work Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Student Population: High school-aged students through transition-aged young adults
Caseload & Student Needs

The selected SLP will work with students who have a variety of communication needs, including:

Complex communication disorders
Students utilizing assistive and augmentative communication technology (AAC)
Transition-focused educational and functional communication goals


Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Active Illinois SLP license (or eligibility for licensure)
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Previous school-based experience preferred
Experience working with:
Assistive and augmentative communication (AAC) devices and technology
Students with complex communication and support needs
Transition-aged student populations


Responsibilities
Conduct speech-language evaluations and assessments
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans
Provide direct and consultative speech-language services
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Support students in developing functional communication skills for post-secondary success
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and state requirements

Pay Range: $45-$55/hour (based on experience)
