Speech Language Pathologist in Laurel, MD

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for clinical fellowship year (CFY)
• Valid state SLP licensure or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with diverse student populations

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students K-12
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Deliver direct therapy and consultative services in both group and one-on-one settings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, psychologists, and families
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings to support student goals
• Provide resources and training to school staff and caregivers to reinforce communication strategies
