Speech Language Pathologist in Laurel, MD

Exciting opportunities are now available for experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) seeking contract roles within a supportive and collaborative school environment near Laurel, MD. These long-term substitute assignments provide the chance to make a significant impact, working directly with diverse student populations in a reputable district.

Choose from a variety of school assignments, including:

• Waverly Elementary: Immediate start through mid-February (possible extension through the end of the year); requires general education support and AAC experience is a plus.
• Veterans Elementary: Begins mid-November, focusing on Early Childhood caseload through mid-February (potential to extend).
• Deep Run Elementary: Mid-November start, primarily K–5 caseload, with possible extension.
• Atholton Elementary / Phelps Luck Elementary: Split assignment, 5 days per week, ongoing through mid-February.

What you'll bring:

• Active Maryland SLP License
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
• Previous experience in school settings preferred
• Competency supporting students across a variety of needs, including general education and regional programs
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Flexibility for onsite work and varying caseloads

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech-language interventions and assessments to assigned students across elementary school populations
• Document student progress, complete required paperwork, and participate in IEP processes
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to develop effective communication support plans
• Flex to support diverse needs, including students needing AAC or early childhood interventions as appropriate for the assignment
