Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license and certification for school-based practice
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility
- Previous school experience preferred, especially with K-8 students
- Comfortable using AAC devices and supporting non-verbal students
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt materials and strategies to a variety of abilities and learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders within a school setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with educators and parents
- Deliver direct and indirect speech therapy services to students, including those with complex communication needs
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and AAC resources to foster student progress
- Maintain thorough records in accordance with district and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team planning to ensure optimal student outcomes
