Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active certification and licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist in California
- Previous experience working in school settings, especially with preschool-aged children
- Expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech/language and communication disorders
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with classroom teachers, assessment teams, and families
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and special education documentation
- Compassion and patience for supporting young learners of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to preschool students within designated classrooms and the Mild/Moderate 1-2 SDC
- Conduct speech and language assessments as part of the Preschool Assessment Team
- Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each child’s unique needs
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and collaborate actively with multidisciplinary teams
- Engage and consult with teachers, staff, and families to support communication strategies in and out of the classroom
- Foster a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages student growth and participation
