Certified Pre-School School Speech Language Pathologist - Long Beach, California

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active certification and licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist in California
• Previous experience working in school settings, especially with preschool-aged children
• Expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech/language and communication disorders
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with classroom teachers, assessment teams, and families
• Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and special education documentation
• Compassion and patience for supporting young learners of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech and language therapy to preschool students within designated classrooms and the Mild/Moderate 1-2 SDC
• Conduct speech and language assessments as part of the Preschool Assessment Team
• Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each child’s unique needs
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and collaborate actively with multidisciplinary teams
• Engage and consult with teachers, staff, and families to support communication strategies in and out of the classroom
• Foster a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages student growth and participation
