This assignment focuses on providing speech and language support to preschool-age students and collaborating with the Preschool Assessment Team. It also involves working with a mild-to-moderate special day class for students in first and second grade. The selected professional will step into a vital, on-site role, ensuring students receive timely intervention and support.

Qualifications:

  • Active and current Speech-Language Pathologist license, with certification to practice in California
  • Prior experience working in a school setting, particularly with preschool populations
  • Familiarity with assessment procedures and documentation requirements for school-based services
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy to preschool students and those in mild/moderate SDC (grades 1-2)
  • Conduct assessments as part of the Preschool Assessment Team, including initial evaluations and re-evaluations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and documentation to support team decisions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and ensure student progress is closely monitored
  • Maintain thorough, accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
  • Provide consultative support to teachers and families regarding student needs and strategies
