A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available within an elementary school serving PreK-8th grade students in Madison, AL. This contract role is scheduled from the start of the January semester through May 22, 2026, providing a structured environment where you will work alongside another SLP to deliver speech therapy services to a caseload currently around 58 students, with ongoing opportunities to reduce caseload through student dismissal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services Monday through Thursday, with Fridays dedicated to assessments and administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with one other SLP to divide the caseload according to mutual agreement, ensuring effective and individualized student support.
- Manage student records, case documentation, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using systems such as PowerSchool.
- Work with paraeducator support who assist by bringing students to therapy sessions.
- Conduct therapy sessions in accordance with Alabama state law and school policies.
- Serve students in a PreK-8th grade setting, promoting communication and developmental goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid and active Speech-Language Pathology license in Alabama.
- Experience working within school settings and familiarity with virtual therapy modalities.
- Knowledge of Alabama state educational regulations and IEP processes.
- Strong case management skills, particularly with digital documentation platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and educational support staff.
Schedule Details:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- School starts at 7:45 AM CST.
- Therapy sessions Monday-Thursday, with Fridays reserved for assessments.
