Step into a pivotal role providing speech and language support to high school students within a low-incidence program, focusing on functional communication and life skills. This contract position offers the chance to make a transformative difference for students with a range of abilities, all within a single school building. As part of a dedicated team, you’ll work closely with a manageable caseload of approximately 40 students, supporting their language, articulation, and communication growth throughout the entire school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Prior experience working with high school-aged students or in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong foundation in functional communication, with the ability to adapt approaches for students with mixed abilities
- Knowledge of low-incidence and life skills programming a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy and support services—with a focus on functional communication—to students with diverse needs
- Manage a caseload of about 40 students within the low-incidence program and select language/articulation groups
- Conduct evaluations, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), update progress reports, and maintain detailed records
- Collaborate with staff, teachers, and families to promote student progress and inclusion
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive school community
- Keep all services and interventions onsite within one building for continuity of care
This full-time opportunity offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, from approximately 7:30 AM–3:00 PM. Interviews can be held onsite or virtually—whichever option fits your preferences and schedule.
