Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • SLP-CCC certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  • Valid SLP license for the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, and communication disorders in children
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
  • Provide direct therapy services (individual and group) to students
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor and document student progress; update IEPs as appropriate
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
  • Provide training and guidance to school staff regarding communication strategies
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
