Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- SLP-CCC certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Valid SLP license for the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, and communication disorders in children
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Provide direct therapy services (individual and group) to students
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor and document student progress; update IEPs as appropriate
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Provide training and guidance to school staff regarding communication strategies
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
