A unique contract opportunity awaits a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist passionate about supporting high school students with moderate to severe medical needs. This rewarding role will be based within a high school setting in the Marshville, NC area for the 2026-2027 school year, with some flexibility in your weekly hours. You’ll collaborate alongside an experienced and empathetic SLP, ensuring the students’ needs are always at the forefront. Your expertise in AAC devices will prove invaluable as you empower students to achieve their communication goals.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid NC State License and Educator Certification (required)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
  • Experience working in schools, particularly high school populations
  • Specialization or strong experience with AAC devices
  • Genuine affinity for supporting medically fragile and minimally verbal students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech-language services to high school students on support plans
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 25-35 students, with a focus on consultation and support rather than direct therapy
  • Collaborate with another SLP who is supportive, compassionate, and flexible
  • Assist with student assessments, AAC strategies, and IEP meetings as required
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and district guidelines
  • Participate in pre- and post-planning as necessary (dates: August 24, 2026, to June 4, 2027, with possible additional days)
