Step into a rewarding contract role making a direct impact on students’ growth and development as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This long-term substitute SLP position is available for immediate start and runs through November 2026, including Extended School Year (ESY) programming. Enjoy working at a well-supported facility serving two programs: one for preK–8 and another for individuals ages 9–22, all within a single location. The caseload is small but offers the opportunity to work closely with students who have high needs, such as Autism and behavioral challenges, while collaborating with a robust team that includes six other SLPs and numerous behavioral therapists.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid SLP license for the state of Connecticut
- Previous experience in a school setting highly preferred
- Comfort and skills working with students with Autism and significant behavioral needs
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Ability to adapt and tailor interventions to individual needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to a diverse caseload of students
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and document progress
- Collaborate with other SLPs, educators, behavioral therapists, and families for comprehensive student support
- Engage in ESY (7/1–7/24, M-F 8AM–2PM) and NSY (8/12–11/1/26, M-F 8AM–3:30PM) sessions
- Participate in team meetings and professional development within a highly supportive environment
