This contract position calls for a dedicated professional to provide onsite services, working 35 hours per week throughout the 2026-27 school year. You’ll engage with students ranging in age from 2 to 22 years old who present with varying levels of disabilities, helping them find their unique voices in a nurturing educational setting near Michigan City, IN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective speech-language therapy, including areas such as assistive technology, augmentative communication, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, as well as receptive and expressive language
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing to inform individualized therapy plans
- Produce comprehensive, insightful reports following student assessments and classroom observations
- Design and update IEP objectives, tailoring interventions to meet diverse learning needs
- Communicate and collaborate with parents, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to support each student’s development
- Provide support for students with moderate to severe disabilities, adapting strategies to various age groups and challenges
Qualifications:
- Licensed or eligible for licensure through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA) and the Department of Education (IDOE) teacher’s license
- Ideally, at least 1-2 years of experience working as a school-based SLP
- Excellent collaborative, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic school environment
