This full-time, contract opportunity offers 37.5 hours per week, serving a diverse age group from kindergarten through 22 years. You'll play a meaningful role in helping students overcome a variety of communication and language barriers, particularly those with moderate to severe disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy for students aged 2 to 22, adapting strategies to individual and diverse needs.
- Address areas including assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor skills, feeding, and receptive/expressive language delays.
- Complete diagnostic and evaluative assessments, producing clear, actionable reports based on findings and classroom observations.
- Develop and maintain measurable IEP objectives, closely tracking student progress towards goals.
- Collaborate seamlessly with parents, special education teams, and colleagues, fostering open communication about students’ developmental milestones and challenges.
- Utilize flexibility and creative problem-solving to adapt to changing needs and classroom dynamics.
Qualifications:
- Must possess, or be eligible for, a Delaware state SLP license.
- SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or relevant experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to adapt and troubleshoot in a dynamic school environment.
