Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences
  • Active SLP license in Alabama, or eligibility to obtain
  • Previous SLP experience in school settings preferred
  • Familiarity with a range of ages, from kindergarten through high school
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfort developing and adapting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for fostering inclusive and positive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs
  • Conduct evaluations, track progress, and update required documentation
  • Partner closely with teachers and parents to support student goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
  • Provide both direct therapy and consultative support in classrooms
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Adapt services to meet the diverse needs of students throughout K-12 grades
