Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist, providing vital support in a school setting near Morton, IL. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and families to positively impact a diverse student population, working with individuals who utilize AAC, require multimodal communication strategies, and present with varied behavioral needs. The position runs from May 31, starting as soon as possible, through June 28, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid SLP license and be eligible for Illinois public school service.
  • Previous experience in a K-12 school environment is preferred.
  • Skilled in providing services to students using AAC devices or multimodal approaches.
  • Adept at developing support strategies for students exhibiting behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with staff and families.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 38 students with exceptional organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy and related services in alignment with IEP goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Employ creative AAC and multimodal methodologies tailored to diverse learners.
  • Work closely with teachers and aides to integrate communication goals throughout the school day.
  • Provide training and consultation to staff and families to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings for assigned students.
