Make a significant impact as a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist working with students in a self-contained autism program, serving ages Early Childhood through grade 5. For the 2025-2026 school year, you'll collaborate within a supportive educational setting, providing essential speech and language services to help students achieve their communication goals.

This is a full-time, contract opportunity averaging 35 hours per week. You'll be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering specialized support to a unique student population. Your experience will foster growth and learning, allowing each child to reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications:

  • Active State of Illinois Speech Language Pathologist license from IDFPR
  • ISBE Professional Educator License as required for school-based SLPs (see more)
  • Experience or interest in working with children with autism, ages Early Childhood through grade 5
  • Accepting SLP-CCC and SLP-CFY applicants
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Adaptability to work in a self-contained educational environment

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Deliver direct and consultative therapy services
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing student progress monitoring
