This contract role is designed to provide coverage from now through December as part of an FMLA maternity leave, allowing you to enrich the educational journey of young learners.

In this setting, your expertise will play a vital role in helping children develop communication skills necessary for success in school and beyond. You’ll be collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to provide tailored interventions and foster student growth.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current SLP license (or eligibility) in Illinois
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting, especially with elementary-aged students
  • Knowledge of IEP process and IDEA/Section 504 protocols
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students’ speech, language, and communication needs
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans
  • Conduct direct and indirect therapy services to support student IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote communication strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and timely completion of required paperwork
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
