This full-time contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the academic year, offering you the chance to support student communication, language, and social skills in a nurturing school environment near New Britain, CT.
As the designated SLP in this setting, you will serve 2-3 classrooms, each with 6-8 students, working directly with a diverse group of children. You’ll have the unique experience of shaping young learners’ growth with individualized and small-group interventions, as no SLPAs are currently assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Current Connecticut SLP license or eligibility
- Prior experience in a school environment, preferably with K-12 students
- Understanding of IEP development and therapy documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and staff
- Ability to work independently and adapt flexibly to the classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services to students with speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support academic success
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to foster an inclusive classroom experience
- Maintain detailed session records and track student progress toward IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with families about student growth and areas for continued support
- Participate in team meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary planning
