We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to cover a full-time maternity leave for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity runs from August 12th through November 1st and is located in the North Haven area, just outside New Haven, CT.
In this pivotal role, you will work with a diverse student population, including those with significant Autism Spectrum Disorders and a range of other disabilities. Your expertise will foster communication, learning, and inclusion for students who benefit from specialized, compassionate intervention.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- State licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous school-based experience required, preferably with students with complex needs and ASD
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to consult with educators, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational talents
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative SLP services to students across educational settings
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and document progress per state and federal guidelines
- Adapt and modify interventions for individual student needs, often using alternative communication (AAC) supports
- Provide recommendations and guidance to teachers and parents to support student growth
- Collaborate with special education teams for coordinated, student-centered planning
