Step into an impactful contract role providing speech-language services in an engaging educational environment near Newark, MD. This position offers meaningful work with young learners, from PreK3 through 3rd grade, supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities. Work closely with another experienced SLP to serve a caseload of 40-50 students through both small group and one-on-one interventions in school-based settings.
Your day will begin at 8:00 AM and wrap up by 3:00 PM, totaling 35 hours per week. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 30, 2027—perfect for professionals interested in a school-year commitment focused on student communication growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid SLP-CCC credentials
- Maryland Department of Health Certification required
- Previous school-based SLP experience, especially with early elementary grades, highly valued
- Comfort working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong collaboration skills, as you’ll partner with another SLP
- Effective communication with staff, students, and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services to all students assigned SL interventions
- Provide support through evidence-based practices for both small groups and individuals
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation of student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team planning for student support
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor results
- Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere
