Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic educational environment for Fall 2026, supporting students in the Newark, NJ area. This 12-week, full-time contract assignment begins in September, encompassing 35+ hours per week. Engage with elementary-aged children, particularly those in preschool through fifth grade, and make a direct impact by providing essential speech and language services onsite.
Currently, there are three openings for Speech-Language Pathologists, including positions in schools that have a high population of students with Autism and an emphasis on preschool-aged learners. Caseloads are diverse and engaging, offering extensive professional growth.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Active NJ SLP License
- Valid NJ SLS (Speech-Language Specialist) Certification
- Prior school-based or pediatric SLP experience is a plus
- CCCs (Certificate of Clinical Competence) are preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows with external supervision may be considered
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to adapt to varying student needs across the Autism spectrum and early developmental stages
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
- Commitment to onsite presence; remote work is not permitted
- SLPAs are not eligible for this role
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting evaluations, screenings, and direct therapy sessions with students
- Developing and implementing IEPs that address speech and language goals
- Consulting with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student success
- Maintaining compliance with documentation and school district policies
- Facilitating students’ communication skills to support their learning and well-being
