Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Newport News, Virginia

A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist passionate about supporting children in an educational environment. This full-time contract position focuses on providing essential speech and language services to elementary students, helping them achieve their communication goals.

In this role, you would:

• Deliver direct speech-language therapy to an elementary caseload of around 80 students.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
• Conduct assessments and re-evaluations to track student progress in speech and language development.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation following school district requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Offer guidance and, if applicable, provide supervision for an SLPA.
• Utilize teletherapy platforms if needed, with initial preference for onsite service.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA required.
• Valid state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in speech-language pathology.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in schools or healthcare settings.
• Strong skills in pediatric speech and language assessment and intervention.
• Teletherapy experience is a plus.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.

This role is for 37.5 hours per week in a supportive school setting. The school is open to teletherapy (VOCO) candidates, but is initially looking to prioritize onsite applicants and will revisit remote options after about a week.
