Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Newport News, VA

Skills & Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current SLP licensure valid for practicing in Virginia
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred, but clinical fellows are also encouraged to apply
• Experience with school-aged populations (K-12); comfortable handling a mixed caseload
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration abilities
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and coordinate with teachers and parents

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct therapy services to elementary, middle, and high school students
• Complete assessments and re-evaluations to determine speech and language needs
• Develop and update IEPs, tracking student progress towards established goals
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
• Offer both individual and small-group therapy based on student requirements
