In this role, you’ll work closely with educators, families, and other specialists to create individualized intervention plans and help implement IEP goals effectively.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Current license or eligibility to practice as an SLP in Virginia
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting (preferred, not required)
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in school-aged children
  • Familiarity with IEP process and IDEA guidelines

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting screenings, evaluations, and assessments
  • Developing and implementing individualized therapy sessions
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and families to support student progress
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
  • Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary teams
  • Staying current on best practices and maintaining professional development
