Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with high-level autism and complex communication needs. This role is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) passionate about making meaningful progress with children and young adults between the ages of 7 and 21. The assignment covers the remainder of the current school year, summer session (July 6th to August 21st), and the upcoming school year, with a consistent 35-hour workweek at a single school site.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active SLP-CCC
- Current Educator Certificate for SLP practice in schools
- Demonstrated expertise with school-age populations, especially those with high-level autism and primarily non-verbal presentations
- Experience developing and implementing individualized treatment plans within a team setting
- Strong understanding of AAC, behavioral strategies, and best practices for non-verbal students
- Ability to work independently; no supervision is provided
- Clear background and fingerprinting required prior to start
Position Highlights:
- Manage a caseload of 30-35 students aged 7-21 within one supportive school environment
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy, evaluate progress, and collaborate with educators and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, document services, and contribute strategies to improve communication outcomes
- Orientation includes 3 days onsite and 2 days virtual for a seamless transition into the role
- Interview process includes a virtual 1:1 session and required onsite visit; decisions are made promptly following the visit
