Step into a rewarding contract role supporting young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist serving PreK through second grade for the full upcoming school year. From late August through early June, you’ll work part-time (14-21 hours weekly) providing essential speech and language services in an engaging educational setting just outside Norwich, CT.

Leverage your expertise to serve a caseload primarily composed of students with Speech-Language Impairment (SLI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), along with some students requiring focused articulation support. Your skills will be especially impactful with a handful of students who utilize AAC devices; training and additional support for AAC is contracted through the district, ensuring collaboration and ongoing professional development. An on-site SLPA will assist in covering many service hours, allowing you to focus on evaluations, therapy, and collaboration. New referrals may occasionally require additional assessments, providing variety and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Valid state licensure (or eligibility for SLP licensure in Connecticut)
  • Experience working with SLI and ASD populations preferred
  • Competence with AAC and related technology encouraged
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • School-based or pediatric SLP experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted therapy and intervention services to students PreK-2
  • Conduct assessments, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff for student success
  • Provide input for AAC use, supporting both direct and consultative needs
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation for all services rendered
