School Speech Language Pathologist - Oakland, CA

Step into a meaningful Speech Language Pathologist opportunity providing specialized services to high school students for the 2024/2025 school year. This contract role involves working full-time, four days per week, with a caseload of 35-45 students, focusing predominantly on the 9th-grade population. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required.
• Valid state licensure for Speech-Language Pathology in California, or eligibility to obtain before the start date.
• Experience providing speech and language services in schools, especially with high school students, is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative work with teachers, staff, students, and families.
• Strong organizational capability to manage caseload, documentation, and time efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive speech and language services in line with student IEPs, targeting communication disorders and academic success.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students’ needs and recommend support strategies.
• Develop and implement individualized and group therapy sessions tailored to high school students.
• Collaborate with general and special education teams, participating in meetings and contributing to student goals.
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and timely reports in accordance with school protocols.
• Communicate proactively with families regarding progress and strategies for home support.
