School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Oakland, California

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Speech-Language Pathology license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Previous experience working in school settings preferred
• Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of speech, language, and communication disorders in K-12 students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for successful collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and individualized education plans (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify students' speech and language needs
• Develop and implement customized therapy plans that promote student growth and progress
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students' communication development in the classroom setting
• Maintain documentation and progress notes in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings, offering professional insights and recommendations
• Engage families and caregivers to support speech and language development at home
