Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Previous school-based experience preferred, but new graduates eager to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication disorders using evidence-based methods
  • Maintain thorough records, document progress, and participate in meetings with families and staff
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education professionals, and administrators
  • Contribute to screenings and assist with eligibility determination for speech and language services
  • Deliver engaging and effective therapy sessions, adapting materials as needed for individual student needs
  • Support a positive and inclusive school environment that nurtures student growth
