Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student communication and learning in a vibrant educational setting. This position begins February 1, 2027, and concludes June 11, 2027 and offers you a choice between two engaging caseloads for the spring semester: work with 4th–8th grade students (one building, 50 students, with 5 planned reevaluations) or serve a preschool and transition-aged group (40 students, 1 planned reevaluation). Both roles provide the chance to work closely with a supportive team and incorporate a wide range of AAC devices, including Eyegaze technology.
Preferred candidates will hold an active Illinois State License and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). However, applicants currently in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) are also encouraged.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Illinois State License in Speech Language Pathology (or eligibility by start date)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong CFY candidates welcome
- Previous experience in school-based settings highly valued
- Familiarity with IEP processes and conducting reevaluations
- Proficiency using AAC devices, such as Eyegaze, is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech/language services to your selected caseload
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each student
- Complete regular progress monitoring and documentation
- Conduct scheduled reevaluations and support multidisciplinary teams
- Engage and communicate effectively with families, teachers, and staff
