This contract position offers the chance to collaborate as part of a dedicated speech-language team, helping empower approximately 70 students by providing essential communication services throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement from the IDFPR
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Previous school-based SLP experience highly valued
- Comfortable working on-site and collaborating with colleagues to split a diverse caseload
- Proactive, communicative, and adaptable when navigating school policies, procedures, and union guidelines
- Ready to provide your ISBE number for prompt application processing
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy for a shared caseload of 70 students, divided between full-time and part-time SLPs
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and maintain detailed records to support student progress
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success
- Ensure compliance with district and state regulations for speech services and documentation
- Maintain high professional standards while adapting to evolving district needs
This on-site opportunity begins in August and extends through late May, following the academic calendar. Applicants should anticipate interview scheduling may occur in May due to union processes, and all placements must comply with established school protocols.
