A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role is open for the 2025–2026 school year (September through June) within a K-12 school serving primarily elementary and some high school students in Oswego, NY. This contract position offers an engaging opportunity to support student communication development through direct intervention and collaborative partnerships with educators and families.
Role Overview:
Manage a caseload of approximately 28 students, providing comprehensive speech and language assessments, individualized therapy, and ongoing progress monitoring. Work closely with teachers and school staff to create effective accommodations and foster an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed speech and language assessments and develop tailored therapy plans
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services based on student needs
- Collaborate with educators to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress, adapting interventions as necessary
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development
- Provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers to promote generalization of skills
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Knowledge of IEP processes and educational regulations
