This in-person position supports local schools with diverse student populations and offers the chance to focus on meaningful service within a truly collaborative educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to K-8 or high school students, depending on assignment, in alignment with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Manage a dedicated caseload at a single school site, providing consistent support for students and collaborating closely with educators and other SLPs or SLPAs.
- Complete assessments, progress notes, and documentation to comply with school district and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student progress and engagement.
- Navigate short-term maternity leave coverage, offering continuity of care during essential timeframes.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active Florida SLP licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working with K-8 students and/or high schoolers, especially those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Ability to meet time-sensitive fingerprinting and credentialing requirements as set by the district (prior prints in AHCA Clearinghouse a plus).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
This contract position offers a reliable schedule of 35 hours per week and a supportive atmosphere, with another SLP or SLPA available on-site for collaboration.
