Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a vibrant Day School Program for the Deaf located near Pasadena, TX! This full-time position (37.5 – 40 hours per week) is ideal for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) experienced in both educational settings and American Sign Language (ASL). The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 25, 2027, providing the chance to make a profound difference across three campuses.
You’ll deliver essential services to a caseload of approximately 60 students ranging from PreK 3 through 12th grade, all of whom have some level of hearing loss. ASL fluency is critical in this role to meet the communication needs of the students and promote optimal language development.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid SLP license and eligibility (SLP-CCC and SLP-CFY candidates welcome)
- Demonstrated experience in school-based settings, particularly with Deaf or hard-of-hearing students
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
- Knowledge of best practices for speech and language therapy in educational environments
- Willingness to travel between three campuses within the district
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and implement individualized therapy for students with hearing loss
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care
- Utilize ASL to provide direct and group instruction, facilitating effective communication
- Maintain detailed documentation and track student progress
