This full-time, contract opportunity runs ASAP through June 11, 2026. You’ll play a crucial role in helping students find their voices and achieve communication milestones—sometimes working within additional community centers in the district for broader engagement and growth in your practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC).
- Previous experience in a school setting working with elementary-aged children.
- Active enrollment in the Rhode Island Medicare program (required).
- Ability to travel within the district, including to community centers as needed.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to elementary students across assigned school and potential community center locations.
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and maintain progress records in compliance with state and district requirements.
- Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to maximize students’ academic and social success.
- Provide consultative support and resources to teachers and parents regarding speech and language development.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and multidisciplinary team collaborations.
