Speech Language Pathologist in Penfield, NY

Make a significant impact in the lives of students as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity is based at a single site near Penfield, NY, with a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and young adults, ages 7 to 21, who have developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. You’ll have a chance to work closely with students who have diverse communication abilities, including those who use AAC devices, are nonverbal, or exhibit varying behavioral needs.

• Current SLP licensure and ASHA CCC required
• Direct experience in school-based speech-language therapy
• Background working with children or young adults with developmental disabilities and autism

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver evidence-based speech-language therapy to students with a wide spectrum of autism-related needs
• Create and implement individualized therapy plans and communication supports
• Collaborate with special educators, therapists, and families to ensure continuity of care
• Utilize and coach staff on AAC devices and alternative communication methods
• Support positive behavioral strategies in the educational setting
• Document progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings as an integral member of the educational team
