Step into a valued role in Birmingham, Alabama, supporting schools with your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2024-2025 academic year (August 7 through June 10). You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with students across various locations, addressing their unique needs as assigned.

As a vital member of the educational team, you’ll draw on your in-depth understanding of laws, regulations, and best practices governing services for children with disabilities. Your background in pediatric and adolescent development, along with practical knowledge of diagnostic tools, will help you accurately assess and support students with diverse learning and physical challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering evidence-based SLP services in compliance with all state and federal guidelines
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and developing individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure the best outcomes
  • Compiling and analyzing student data while maintaining accurate documentation
  • Communicating clearly with students, parents, staff, and administration
  • Using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and coordination

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
  • Valid Professional Educator Certification
  • Strong data analysis skills and superb communication abilities Preferred qualifications include ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure.

This is an on-site contract role—remote or virtual services are not an option. The actual location and caseload assignment will be based on district needs.
