Speech Language Pathologist in Pittsford, NY

Here’s an exciting contract opportunity for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist interested in making a meaningful impact in an educational setting near Pittsford, NY. This part-time position (20-25 hours per week) is tailored for professionals passionate about working with students who have developmental disabilities and autism, specifically those requiring support with AAC and nonverbal communication. Serving a diverse group of students (ages 7-21) for the full school year plus a six-week extended school year, you'll contribute to a team that values individualized attention and innovative communication strategies.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
• Experience providing therapy in school-based settings
• Familiarity with AAC devices and intervention for nonverbal/low-verbal students
• Understanding of developmental disabilities, particularly IQs below 70
• Ability to address a broad range of communication and behavioral challenges
• Compassionate, collaborative, and eager to support students with varying levels of need

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech-language therapy for students in a 6:1:3 classroom setting
• Develop and implement individualized communication goals, with an emphasis on AAC strategies
• Collaborate with educational staff and families to optimize student outcomes
• Document progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving student needs
• Support both school-year and six-week extended school year programming
