Step into a contract role supporting students from early childhood through grade 5 for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time opportunity (35 hours weekly) focuses on providing speech-language services in a school-based setting, specifically working with students in self-contained autism classrooms. Whether you hold SLP-CCC or are completing your CFY, your expertise can make a meaningful impact on young learners' communication, language, and social skills.

What you bring:

  • Hold or qualify for Illinois State Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (IDFPR)
  • Active ISBE Professional Educator License
  • Experience or enthusiasm for working in school settings—including SLP-CCC, CFY, or pediatric healthcare environments
  • Clinical understanding of autism and experience supporting students with developmental differences
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

What you'll do each day:

  • Deliver direct and consultative speech and language therapy, primarily in self-contained autism classrooms (EC – grade 5)
  • Assess and document students’ communication needs, create individualized goals, and monitor progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated support
  • Support and implement IEPs, adapting interventions as needed
  • Maintain thorough records in compliance with state and district protocols

Additional details:

  • Full-time schedule: 35 hours per week during the school year
  • SLP-CCC hourly rates range from $55-$60, while SLP-CFY rates are $38-$40 per hour, aligning with qualifications and experience
