This contract position, based near Plainfield and Shorewood, IL, offers a vibrant K-8 setting where your skills can flourish. You’ll work 35 hours per week, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting a diverse, cross-categorical caseload.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Active Illinois SLP licensure or ability to obtain promptly
- Previous school-based experience or completion of school practicum highly valued
- Deep commitment to supporting students across a range of needs and abilities
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to write clear, compliant IEPs and maintain timely documentation
- Organization and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose students K-8 with communicative disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans within a cross-categorical caseload
- Provide direct therapy, consultative support, and collaborate with teachers and caregivers
- Participate in IEP meetings, goal setting, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for students’ social and academic communication
- Partner with school staff to maximize students’ growth and participation
